Description/Job Summary

Job Summary:  We are looking for a forward-thinking individual to deliver competent networking & server solutions to meet user and business requirements as well as to make recommendations which will provide effective and efficient systems for users and which focus on business needs. This individual must be well versed in updated technology and software to help meet future business needs and bring new ideas to the business to help stream line and update business process to simplify and create efficiencies in day to day work. This individual must also be able to keep abreast of industry trends, user needs and funding requirements by participating in the IT Team, performing user satisfaction surveys, being a member of networking professional organizations, attending trade shows, training and seminar and accessing outside vendors and electronic forums for information and support

Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities

  • Obtain, design/develop, integrate, implement, install, evaluate/test, document and maintain software and hardware associated with Avery Weigh-Tronix, US computer networking efforts to maintain efficient computing solutions and systems.
  • Diagnose and repair problems associated with the networking environment (may be hardware or software) to achieve user satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement network security analysis and management to improve IT security.
  • Provide network systems daily administration to achieve optimal networking operations for users, while ensuring data and directory security to the various departments and SBU. Manage and document hardware and software asset inventory to maintain accurate records.
  • Provide Information Technology information to teams, SBU’s departments, etc. to ensure proper IT integrated business solutions.
  • Manage backup systems to ensure data integrity for various servers.
  • Perform user training to achieve continuous improvement in computer knowledge for users.
  • Maintain and configure Internet hardware and software including firewalls, network switch equipment and routers.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support business updates and future development within Avery Weigh-Tronix
  • Attend professional training and trade shows to improve and stay current in new computer technologies.
  • Provide timely and cordial help desk support to local Fairmont and remote office end users as computing issues and needs arise.

Knowledge, Skills, and Education Qualifications

Abilities: Expertise with Windows 2008-2016 Server, Hyper V, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP-IP, XenServer and Cloud Services.  Experience with Microsoft Exchange,  Office 365, network routers and switches as well as Firewall and Anti-virus administration.  Must be able to implement new servers and systems from setup to implementation.  Expert knowledge of PC operating systems (Win7 – Win10).  Proven track record of accomplishment in the responsibilities listed for this position.  Strong interpersonal skills, written/oral.  Ability to work in a team environment.  Strong customer service orientation.  Must be able to pull from past experiences to make sound computing and network configuration decisions, on the fly, as problems and situations present themselves.  Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines.  Highly self motivated.  Hands on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.  Linux, SQL server a plus, but not required.

Education: Computer related degree (either 4-year or technical college), MSP, MSCA, MCSE or Watchguard certifications a plus

Experience: Windows Server Administration with TCP-IP networking experience required
